Troy, Mich. —May 2, 2014—Practice Transformation Institute (PTI), providing the health care community with continuing medical education and customized learning programs that improve patient health outcomes and the individual care delivery experience, has been awarded reaccreditation status by The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). IACET authorized providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years, and includes all programs offered or created during that time.PTI first received IACET accreditation in 2009.
In order to achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, Practice Transformation Institute completed a rigorous application process, including an IACET site visit review, and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2013 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs.
“We are pleased to continue our relationship with Practice Transformation Institute as an Authorized Provider,” stated Kristopher J. Newbauer, President of IACET and Director of Learning & Organization Development at Rotary International in Evanston, IL. “Practice Transformation Institute joins nearly 650 organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education to ensure the highest possible standards are met.”
PTI’s education programs train physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers and individual practice teams on topics such as the patient-centered medical home, self-management support, care management, quality improvement and process improvement. Earlier this year, PTI was awarded a contract from the Michigan Primary Care Transformation Project (MiPCT) to develop and implement a learning collaborative for its participants. MiPCT is a three-year, state-wide multi-payer project aimed at improving health in Michigan, making care more affordable, and strengthening the patient-care team relationship. It is the largest Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) demonstration project in the nation.
“Our renewed partnership with IACET solidifies our leadership position in the medical training environment and demonstrates our commitment to lifelong learning and high quality standards,” said founding principal, Ewa Matuszewski.
In addition to its IACET certification, PTI is also accredited by the Michigan State Medical Society to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians.
